The Alternative Baking Company has created a wonderful thing, a vegan cookie that tastes like an amazing, delicious, REAL good cookie!
I know some may get squeamish at the word vegan, but this cookie can benefit more then the people who avoid animal products. Let me explain.
First off, for those of you who are vegan (do not eat any animal products aka a good amount of the ingredients in a cookie such as: butter, egg, honey, or milk) you can have a cookie that doesn’t taste like it is missing anything.
For those of you who are intolerant or allergic to dairy, more recently me, you get to have a good ol’ cookie too, without becoming sick.
For the remaining who want a better dessert that is an alternative to the typical preservative ridden cookie with poor quality ingredients and refined sugar, this is for you.
Our cookies look and taste like the very best traditionally made cookies – no kidding! — but contain no dairy, no eggs, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, no cholesterol, no animal ingredients, no artificial ingredients, and no refined sugar. We also have a wheat-free line of cookies. We use ORGANIC FLOUR, ORGANIC SUGAR, as well as other premium, natural ingredients and make our cookies in small, handmade batches. If I did not convince you of how spectacular their cookies are I would recommend you giving it a try. My husband didn’t believe me either, he tried to pass it up by saying “If I am going to have cookie I want a good cookie, not an alternative cookie.” After a taste test, even he was convinced.
They are a little more expensive, running about $2.50 a cookie, but it is a LARGE cookie. You can find it at local health food stores. Locally in Oregon, you can find it at the Ike Box coffee shop (Salem), Life Source (Salem) or Whole Foods (Portland).
