How’s your product switch coming along?

OPB’s article about products polluting our water is a good read. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that: “Personal care products don’t disappear when they’re rinsed down the drain or excreted into the toilet. Small amounts can enter groundwater and streams.”

Our products and drugs are making male fish… female?

Fish being studied in the Puget Sound of Washington have been found to have male and female parts. “Basically, [the fish have] testes with eggs in them. ” Why is this happening? Researchers have evidence that it is because of chemicals used in our products and drugs that end up in the waterways, such as BPA or women’s birth control pills.

Now, provide me with some reading…What products have you switched out?

Ahhhh the drugs in the water freak me out so much! I haven’t switched out any new products recently, but I’m still obsessed with my shea butter body wash that you sent me! I’ve been telling my friends about it. Have a great weekend!
